Five years ago, the thought of standing on a stage and speaking to an audience was overwhelming for me. I firmly believed that people were either born with public speaking skills or they weren’t, and I fell into the latter category. But my journey over the past four years has proven otherwise. Not only have I mastered the art of public speaking, but I've also gained recognition for it and have had the privilege of helping others do the same.

My Journey

I began my transformation through Toastmasters International, an organization renowned for developing leadership and public speaking skills worldwide. Through this platform, I honed my speaking abilities and built the confidence I once thought impossible. What began as a personal challenge has turned into a passion for empowering others to overcome their fears and become confident, effective communicators.

Coaching Experience

My experience extends beyond personal development; I’ve had the opportunity to train teams and individuals in various professional settings. Notable engagements include:

  • Gralix Actuarial Consulting: Conducted targeted team training sessions focused on enhancing communication skills in a corporate environment.
  • Institute of Directors South Africa: Facilitated workshops designed to help directors and top executives of various organisations articulate their vision and influence their stakeholders effectively.


Additionally, I served as the Head of Learning and Development for a Toastmasters branch, where I played a pivotal role in creating a positive and supportive learning environment and helping members meet educational goals. I also served as an Area Director, a role in which I supported multiple Toastmasters branches, ensuring that members received the support and guidance they needed to excel at building confidence, leadership and communication skills.

I am also a trained instructor, holding a post-graduate diploma in Teaching Methodology which has equipped me with the necessary tools to design effective learning strategies. Additionally, I have received Triple Crown awards three years in a row from Toastmasters Southern Africa for significant advancement in the Toastmasters education programme. This demonstrates my commitment to advancement and achieving positive results in my training endeavours.
